Qi2.2 Certified 25W. Here's What That Means for Your iPhone

Qi2.2 is the latest version of the global wireless charging standard, and this charger is officially certified to it at 25W (Qi ID 26279). That means it has passed the Wireless Power Consortium's own tests for power, safety and compatibility, not just a factory's claims. The iPhone 16, iPhone 17 and iPhone 18 Pro series can draw that full 25W when the charger is connected to a USB-C PD wall adapter of 30W or more. Older iPhone models, from the iPhone 12 onwards, still charge magnetically at the highest wireless speed they support. The charger works that speed out automatically, so there's nothing to set up.

We spell this out because many wireless chargers print "25W" on the box without saying which phones can actually reach it. You should know exactly what you're getting before you buy.

A Magnetic Snap That Lines Itself Up

Wireless charging works best when the coil in the charger sits directly over the coil in your phone. Standard flat pads leave that to chance, so a phone nudged an inch to the side can charge slowly or stop altogether. The magnets in the AXYON charger pull it into the right spot every time. Pick your phone up to answer a message, put it back, and it clicks straight back into place.

It charges through most thin magnetic cases. Thick cases, metal plates, pop-out grips and cards stored between the phone and the charger will block or slow wireless charging. Take them off before charging, and never charge with a bank or transport card in between.

Cooler Pad, Smarter Connector

Heat is what slows wireless charging down. When a phone gets warm, it cuts its own charging speed to protect the battery. The AXYON charger places its charging circuitry in the USB-C connector at the other end of the cable, so the pad that touches your phone is kept free of the main heat-producing parts. It also has built-in protection against over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature and short circuits, to protect both your phone and the charger.

  • iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: magnetic charging at up to 25W with a 30W+ USB-C PD adapter
  • iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series (including Pro and Pro Max): magnetic charging at up to 25W with a 30W+ USB-C PD adapter
