Speed class ratings differ by capacity — that is how flash memory works across every brand, and stating otherwise would be inaccurate. Here is what each option actually is:

What V30 actually guarantees
On the 64GB and larger options, the V30 rating means a sustained minimum write speed of 30MB/s — a floor, not a peak. That floor is the specification that matters for video, because it is what prevents dropped frames and buffer stalls partway through a continuous 4K recording. A card advertised only by its peak read speed tells you nothing about whether it can hold a recording.
A1 for app performance
The 64GB and larger options carry the Application Performance Class 1 (A1) rating, which specifies minimum random read and write throughput rather than sequential speed. In practice that is what determines whether apps launch and assets index at a reasonable pace when installed on expandable storage rather than internal memory.

Devices vary in the maximum capacity they accept. Check your device's supported capacity before choosing 256GB or 512GB — older hardware often caps at 32GB or 128GB.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the 8GB card not rated V30 like the 512GB?
Sustained write speed scales with the number of flash memory channels a card can write across, and smaller-capacity cards have fewer. This is true of every manufacturer. If you need a guaranteed 30MB/s write floor for 4K video, choose 64GB or above.
Are both cards in the pack identical?
Yes — same capacity, same specification, same production standard. That is the point of the pack.
Will the formatted capacity match the number on the card?
It will read slightly lower, as with all storage media. Manufacturers count 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes while operating systems calculate in binary, and a portion of the card is reserved for its controller and file system.
Can I use these in a Nintendo Switch or a Steam Deck?
Yes. Both accept microSD, and the 64GB and larger options meet the speed requirements for game storage comfortably.
What is the difference between microSDHC and microSDXC?
It is a capacity standard, not a quality difference. SDHC covers cards up to 32GB, SDXC covers 64GB and above. Some older devices read SDHC only — worth checking if you are buying for legacy hardware.
Do I need to format the card first?
Format in the device you intend to use it in, not on a computer. Cameras, dash cams and consoles each write their own file structure, and formatting in-device avoids compatibility problems later.
